Spire Nottingham Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Inpatient Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy department on a bank, occasional basis. 

This is a flexible, ad hoc role primarily supporting our inpatient and orthopaedic ward-based services, working with post-operative patients to facilitate rehabilitation and safe discharge home.

Duties and responsibilities:

We are particularly interested in hearing from Physiotherapists with recent experience working within acute hospital inpatient environments who are confident managing post-operative orthopaedic patients. Whilst experience across both inpatient and outpatient services would be highly desirable, our immediate priority is to strengthen our inpatient service.

• Deliver high-quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to predominantly inpatient and post-operative orthopaedic patients.
• Manage your own clinical caseload as an autonomous practitioner
• Assess and mobilise patients following orthopaedic and surgical procedures.
• Support safe discharge planning and rehabilitation programmes.
• Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
• Provide physiotherapy support to outpatient services where required.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards.
• Contribute to the delivery of a safe, effective and patient-focused physiotherapy service.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree-qualified Physiotherapist (BSc Hons or equivalent).
• Current HCPC registration with no restrictions.
• Previous post-graduate physiotherapy experience within an NHS, acute, or private hospital setting.
• Recent inpatient physiotherapy experience is essential.
• Experience managing orthopaedic, surgical and post-operative patients.
• Confidence working independently within a ward environment.
• Experience across both inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services would be highly desirable.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning and organisational skills.
• Flexible approach to working patterns and clinical areas.
• Availability to work at least 1 to 2 shifts per week.
