Magnetics, a division of Spang & Company, has an opening for a Process Engineer based at the Anaheim, CA facility. This position will be responsible for reviewing, improving, and standardizing manufacturing processes and supporting documentation for strip-wound magnetic components. This role will ensure that products are built in accordance with drawing requirements and applicable standards, support smooth production flow across the manufacturing floor, and drive consistent product quality.
Magnetics is a leading world supplier of precision soft magnetic components and materials to the electronics industry. We specialize in research, design, and production of high-quality powder cores, ferrite cores, and tape-wound cores for applications such as chokes, inductors, filters, transformers, and power supply components for use in alternative energy, uninterrupted power supplies, telecommunications, aerospace, military, medical, and other electronics systems.
In this role, you will drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and shop floor workflow to improve efficiency, increase repeatability, and reduce scrap and rework. You will lead the review, development, and control of manufacturing process documentation to ensure products are built accurately and consistently in accordance with drawing requirements, quality standards, and test instructions. This position will also apply a structured, analytical approach to identify process risks, failure modes, tooling and fixture needs, operator training needs, and documentation gaps, while implementing corrective actions that support long-term process stability, compliance, and consistent product quality. Additionally, this position will create or update SolidWorks drawings to improve assembly clarity and support manufacturing documentation.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and 3 to 5 years of manufacturing process engineering experience with electromechanical products. Candidates must have strong electromechanical workmanship knowledge, experience improving production documentation, the ability to interpret customer drawings and engineering requirements, and be comfortable working directly with operators and technicians on the production floor.
