2nd Shift Painter (Powder Coat)

Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-1:30am
Pay: $18/hr-$20/hr+$2/hr Shift Differential

This position may need to train on 1st shift. 


Job Purpose

Support the Paint Line Team by applying high‑quality powder coating using cone, disk, or nozzle‑type industrial equipment. You may rotate between stations as needed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Start and adjust conveyor and spray equipment.
  • Set paint pressure and flow; monitor gauges.
  • Hang parts as they come off the line.
  • Inspect parts for paint quality (runs, sags, missed areas).
  • Adjust spray patterns to correct coating issues.
  • Clean paint booths, hooks, grids, and spray equipment.
  • Hand‑spray parts for touch‑ups or rust prevention.
  • Mix paint per specifications and adjust consistency.
  • Follow SDS and safety requirements.
  • Complete other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred (not required)

Experience & Knowledge

  • Understanding of powder coating, ovens, conveyors, and wash systems preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, specs, and shop documentation
  • 1+ year manufacturing or related experience preferred
  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages)
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures
  • Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions
  • Basic problem‑solving abilities

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and handling materials
  • Lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Vision requirements: close, distance, color, and depth perception
