Pay: $20/hour

This program focuses on increasing voter participation and engagement across Chicago's South Side, and ensuring that every voice in the community is heard. At Solidarity Strategies, we are committed to electing Democrats and driving progressive change through grassroots organizing and one-on-one conversations with voters.

About the Role

We're hiring passionate, outgoing, and reliable canvassers to join our field team on the South Side. As a canvasser, you will speak directly with voters at their doors, share information about the campaign, and collect important data using tools like social media.

This is an entry-level position — no prior experience required. Paid training will be provided. Flexible schedules and multiple shifts are available, including evenings and weekends.

What You'll Do

  • Go door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods

  • Talk with voters and share information about the campaign

  • Accurately collect and record data using MiniVAN

  • Submit daily reports and check in with your supervisor

  • Represent the campaign and its values professionally

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Director or Field Organizers

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with new people

  • Friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Tech-savvy and able to use a smartphone for data entry and navigation

  • Familiarity with South Side neighborhoods, or ties to local block clubs, churches, or community organizations, is a strong plus

  • Problem-solving skills for efficient route planning

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Must have a smartphone with mobile data

  • Reliable transportation to and from your assigned turf — CTA, rideshare, bike, or personal vehicle all work

  • Flexible availability: 12+ hours per week

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
