We are seeking a highly skilled NDT Inspector - Primary responsibility is the review and acceptance of supplier NDT and quality documentation, ensuring records are complete, traceable, and compliant with applicable codes, project specifications, approved procedures, and client requirements, with additional support for welding/CWI activities as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and review NDT examinations including VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Review supplier NDT documentation and reports for completeness, accuracy, traceability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Verify NDT personnel qualifications and certifications meet applicable project and code requirements.
- Review MDRs/Manufacturing Data Books, inspection dossiers, NDT reports, material certificates, weld maps, weld logs, and related quality records.
- Verify material and weld traceability, including heat numbers, weld numbers, welder identification, and correlation to NDT reports.
- Review supplier documentation against approved ITPs, drawings, specifications, procedures, and inspection requirements.
- Identify missing, incomplete, or non-compliant documentation and provide comments for supplier correction.
- Track supplier document review status, outstanding comments, punch-list items, and close-out activities.
- Review NDT procedures and techniques for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Review NDT results against specified acceptance criteria and identify discrepancies requiring further evaluation or corrective action.
- Provide support for welding inspection activities, including basic visual inspection, fit-up verification, weld identification, and review of welding records as required.
- Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records as part of supplier quality documentation when applicable.
- Support supplier inspections, source inspections, and final inspection activities.
- Coordinate with suppliers, QA/QC personnel, engineering, third-party inspectors, and document control to resolve inspection and documentation issues.
- Review NCRs, repair records, and corrective action documentation related to NDT and fabrication activities.
- Ensure final supplier quality documentation is complete, technically acceptable, properly traceable, and suitable for project turnover
Required Qualifications
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (Preferred).
- Level II certification in one or more NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT) in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or NAS-410.
- High school diploma or technical degree in Welding, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding inspection and NDT.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel 75–90% of the time, including overnight travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ASME Section V, VIII, IX, API 1104, API 650, or AWS D1.1.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience in heavy fabrication, structural steel, pressure vessels, or pipeline construction.
- Strong understanding of welding processes including GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and SAW.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of welding codes, specifications, and NDT standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inspection reporting software.
- Ability to work independently in both field and shop environments.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage travel schedules and multiple inspection assignments
Certifications
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – Preferred
- ASNT Level II (VT/MT/PT/UT/RT) – Preferred
- Valid driver's license – Required
