BASIC FUNCTION
The Business Developer is responsible for driving new business growth for Smarte Carte’s mobility product portfolio. This role will identify, develop, and convert new sales opportunities within the aviation, healthcare, transportation, and related mobility markets.
The position will focus primarily on new customer acquisition, market expansion, relationship development, and building a sustainable sales pipeline. The Business Developer will work closely with operations, product development, manufacturing, and senior leadership to ensure customer needs are aligned with product capabilities and business objectives
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform market research and gain knowledge on industry competitive situations.
- Develop and maintain a project pipeline and increase portfolio value.
- Pursue new business opportunities and successfully negotiate new contracts and sales.
- Work cross-functionally to improve product attributes and increase profitability.
- Obtain customer and consumer feedback to improve product, service, and develop sales pitch to further grow the emerging market.
- Provide leadership and ownership of mobility line of business.
- Foster strong relationships with customers and fiercely protect existing business against competition.
- Business Development KPI tracking.
- Performance summaries
- Attend and exhibit Smarte Carte products and services at industry tradeshows.
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related sales roles
- Minimum 1 year of new market analysis
- Ability to close difficult deals and manage complex client needs
- Strong background in financial analysis and forecasting
- Possess strategic leadership, planning and thinking skills, business assessment acumen and a value chain mindset
- Experience with working in a cross-functional team environment
- Experience working with, or within healthcare Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO’s)

EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in a business or related field required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
