The Inkhouse is the apparel decorating division of Slingshot. We provide high-quality embroidery and screen printing apparel to our campus stores located all across the United States. We are a creative, collaborative, and supportive team committed to quality craftsmanship.
Position Overview
This is a full-time opportunity for an individual dedicated to the art of apparel decoration. The 2nd Shift Lead is a working position where you will be actively involved in production, serving as the primary technical resource and point of contact for the shift. You will play a pivotal role in driving the operational excellence of the Inkhouse production floor.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Operations
Directly operate and maintain assigned machinery throughout the shift to ensure peak performance.
Execute the specific production plan and work orders provided by leadership to meet daily shift targets.
Maintain stewardship over state-of-the-art production machinery through expert setup and preventive care.
Champion a "quality first" mentality by conducting rigorous inspections and rapid problem- solving.
Team Leadership
Support production staff through daily technical coaching and skill-building. Escalate staffing or training needs to the GM Production Lead to ensure operational resilience.
Quality & Safety
Implement and maintain quality control standards for all decorated products.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and optimize production flow.
Identify operational bottlenecks or equipment performance issues and report them to the GM
Production Lead to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay up to date on industry techniques and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a production or supervisory role within screen printing, embroidery, or related industries (a plus but not required).
Hands-on knowledge of screen printing. Knowledge of embroidery, pad printing, and/or engraving processes a plus but not required.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Proficiency with production software and workflow systems.
Work Environment
Full-time, on-site position in a shop/production setting.
Requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
Exposure to inks, chemicals, and machinery with appropriate protective gear provided.
