PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To ensure comprehensive training, resources, and knowledge dissemination across all levels of the Slim Chickens brand.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Certified Training Restaurant (CTR) Program Ownership
Own and administer the CTR program system-wide, including identifying and evaluating potential CTR locations and leading certification workshops.
Set and enforce Gold Standard training benchmarks for the CTR network; partner with Training GMs and ADs to ensure consistent execution of training and SOPs.
Conduct regular follow-up audits of certified locations, provide corrective feedback, and drive continuous improvement of the CTR program.
Facilitate recurring strategic alignment meetings with Company CTR leadership to evaluate training program performance, assess Corporate Trainer effectiveness, address operational challenges, and establish shared priorities that drive Company CTR performance
Collaborate with Company restaurants on developing new CTRs when needed
Collaborate with company restaurants to test products, procedures, and equipment, incorporating feedback into CTR program standards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for CTR program questions, escalations, and ongoing development across Field Training.
Team Leadership & Corporate Training Oversight
Oversee and manage a team of three Corporate Trainers, providing coaching, direction, and performance management.
Own the annual training program for all Support Center employees, including tracking, scheduling, and execution.
Support the training and development of corporate restaurant management teams.
Support the training and development of franchise restaurant management, multi-unit operators, and owners upon request.
Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in the development of new training programs.
People Development
Uphold the integrity of the Slim Chickens Standards and Culture through effective teaching and demonstration.
Coordinate schedules and changes for new MIT/FITs across training locations.
Conduct training and development sessions for new Franchisees and Franchise Managers.
Facilitate orientation for all new franchise MITs/FITs.
Validate readiness of new franchise MITs/FITs through comprehensive certification processes.
Collect, evaluate, and communicate weekly MIT performance feedback, providing timely updates to franchise and company stakeholders to monitor progress, document performance, and support successful program completion
Field Development
Deliver and oversee ServSafe classes and exams.
Conduct educational development classes and workshops for company managers and team members.
Assist in developing and presenting in-market workshops, presentations, and coursework.
Support the rollout of new products throughout the system.
Ensure all training and operational content remains current and relevant.
Provide insights and ideas to enhance training and operational effectiveness during content development activities.
Slim Chickens systems principles and objectives: Has a thorough understanding of Slim Chickens' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, safety) and recognizes the responsibility to stay updated on these systems and the role this position plays in supporting them.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is designed to guide the activities of the Field Training Manager. It is not meant to restrict the individual's creativity or limit their thinking, nor does it encompass all the tasks that may be required in this role.
Physical Activities: Primarily performed in an office environment. Involves entering and retrieving information on a computer and visually verifying details, often in small print. May also require presenting information to small or large groups.
Travel: Frequently requires travel to multiple restaurants or work sites, which may include overnight stays.
QualificationsRequirements and Competencies
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in written and verbal communication, adept at creating internal documents, presentations, training workshops, collateral materials, and field communications.
Demonstrates a consultative approach when working with franchisees, managers, and team members.
Service-oriented with a "Guest First" mentality.
Comprehensive knowledge of restaurant operations.
Willingness to travel occasionally and conduct fieldwork, including overnight stays.
Technical Experience: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat -Laptop computer, iPad, iPhone, Projector
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
3+ years restaurant GM experience.
Restaurant training and development background.
New restaurant opening background
