Quality Technician is directly responsible for daily activities related to non-conforming material investigation and control, calibration, and corrective / preventive action. Facilitates MRB activity including investigation, including measurement of suspected non-conforming material using calibrated devices. Under the guidance of the Quality Engineer II / Senior Quality Engineer and the Quality Director, supports new product introduction by ensuring First Article requirements are met and ensures compliance to calibration activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Non-Conforming Material

Conducts inspection of suspected non-conforming material and provides reports / evaluation for disposition.
Supports and leads investigations, documents results.
Prepares concession / deviation reports for provision to customers.

Inspection and Process Control

In conjunction with engineering and manufacturing personnel, develops and implements control processes and programs, ensuring critical to quality characteristics are defined and implemented in the manufacturing processes. Monitor and oversee effectiveness of hot inspection program, ensuring sampling and tools are appropriate for key characteristics.
Conducts dimensional evaluation and prepares first article inspection documentation.
Ensure calibration program is implemented and facilitated in alignment with industry expectations, and that records are available per requirements.

Completes calibration activities
Coordinates 3rd party calibration vendors

Measurement System Analysis / GR&R

Other Quality related duties as assigned.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates’ Degree in Engineering or Technology discipline (or equivalent experience)
Aerospace industry experience preferred
Familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality standards
Nadcap Special Processes experience preferred
Knowledge of statistical techniques, SPC, FAI, PPAP
Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Visual Factory / Continuous Improvement Tools
Must possess solid analytical skills in defining problems, collection data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
CMM/Laser scanning experience
GD&T certification perferred
ASQ CQI or CQE preferred
