About this role

Job Summary

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic circuity to support production schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry, and more according to directions.
  • Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, and builds to those specifications.
  • Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned task.
  • Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
  • Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
  • Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Commitments and Location

  • Fulltime role based in Dixon, IL
  • Day Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 5pm
  • Overtime may be required

Benefits Include:

  • Eligible for the Sewer Equipment Productivity Bonus, paid quarterly.  Average 2025 payout was $7/hour.  Payouts are based on overall company profitability, productivity, warranty, and attendance.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Detail-oriented and consistent.
  • Works well as a productive member of a team.
  • Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment.
  • Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.

Education and Experience:

  • 1-year mechanical experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Must wear safety glasses.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
