Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trim Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing interior and exterior trim elements in residential and commercial buildings. Your expertise will contribute to creating polished, high-quality finishes that enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our projects. Duties

  • Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation of trim components.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and install various wood and composite materials using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and levels.
  • Operate power tools for woodworking including drills, sanders, nail guns, and routers while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Install interior trim such as baseboards, crown molding, window casings, door casings, wainscoting, and custom millwork with attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to coordinate schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials; ensure all equipment is used safely in compliance with power tool safety standards.
  • Assist with other carpentry-related tasks including framing, siding installation, door hanging, cabinet installation, and minor repairs as needed.
Skills

  • Strong knowledge of carpentry principles with experience in residential trim carpentry and general construction.
  • Proficiency in reading construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate implementation.
  • Skilled in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools designed for woodworking projects.
  • Familiarity with woodworking machines such as table saws or routers for precision fabrication.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately for complex installations.
  • Experience with construction estimating processes related to material needs and project timelines.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures including power tool safety protocols and proper handling of construction materials like wood construction materials or siding products.
  • Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks typical on construction sites; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Basic understanding of related trades such as electrical experience for fixture installation or plumbing knowledge for remodeling projects is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality finishes.
