Title: Registered Dietitian
Department: Nutrition and Senior Centers
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Reports To: Director of Nutrition and Senior Centers
Summary: Responsible for menu development, preparation for nutrition education activities, and developing in-service training.
Essential Functions:
⦁ Works with caterers to develop and certify menus to meet the funder’s guidelines and clients’ needs; works with program staff on menu substitutions for special events, certifies menu substitutions, and keeps documents on file.
⦁ Plans and coordinates all nutrition education activities, including teaching material development and compilation of resources on file.
⦁ Develops in-service training schedule and resources for staff and volunteers.
⦁ Coordinates and provides in-service training for staff and volunteers.
⦁ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
⦁ Must possess a current Registered Dietitian license with at least one year of work experience with older adults.
⦁ Must be familiar with Asian dietary culture. Must have knowledge about quality Asian ethnic food planning and quality control.
⦁ Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
⦁ Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
⦁ Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Cantonese.
⦁ Proficient in MS Office, Chinese Word Processing, and the Internet. Familiarity with NutriBase 9.
