POSITION SUMMARY:
The Industrial Engineer shall support the business in areas of production process improvement by analyzing work flow to improve efficiencies.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Work to drive out cost through process improvements and documented standard work instructions.
- Designs, redesigns or enhances work areas and layouts with respect for ergonomics and waste elimination.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods and trends and developments in technology and equipment.
- Works in conjunction with our lean team to improve process flow.
- Develops and maintains management information, planning and control systems.
- Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
- Performs time studies to level load the manufacturing process.
- Implements PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis) mindset and process for our operators.
- Work across the organization to solve problems related to process outputs
- Develops, implements and communicates best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred).
- Masters degree in manufacturing related engineering field is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years in production environment
- Preference given to aerospace and defense electronics experience
- Read/Write Fluently in English; Spanish speaking a plus
- Needs to be an effective communicator, credible and decisive, possess team building skills
- Must be well-organized, flexible and able to work in a fast paced, manufacturing environment
- Must have analytical skills and demonstrated RCCA implementation experience
- Comfortable using MS Office Suite including; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and MSWord.
- Sustained dependable attendance.
- Cooperation with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues.
- Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly required to walk up and down stairs.
- Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
- Occasional fumes or airborne particles; toxic, caustic chemicals and vibration.
