Ready to Grow Into Community Management Leadership?
If you're a Leasing Consultant, Senior Leasing Consultant, or Assistant Manager ready for more responsibility - and you like the pace of supporting more than one community - we'd love to meet you.
The Assistant Community Manager supports the day-to-day operations of our Monterey and Marina region, partnering closely with the Community Manager to keep leasing strong, residents happy, and the communities running smoothly. It's a hands-on role with real ownership, and a natural stepping stone toward a Community Manager position at Rutherford.

Our leaders work collaboratively, encourage innovation, and empower employees to make decisions that positively impact residents, teams, and the communities we serve.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Community Manager, you'll support both the operational and resident-facing side of two apartment communities.

- Process applications, prepare leases, and coordinate move-ins and move-outs.
- Support rent collections, delinquency follow-up, and renewal outreach.
- Respond to resident questions and concerns with professionalism and urgency.
- Assist the Community Manager with reporting, invoicing, and daily operational tasks.
- Walk the communities regularly to maintain curb appeal and community standards.
- Partner with the maintenance team on service request follow-up and unit turns.
- Support marketing and outreach efforts that keep traffic strong.
- Step in to support the Community Manager during absences, transitions, and busy periods.
What Makes This Role Different?
Most Assistant Community Manager roles cover a single property. This one supports multiple communities, which means more variety in your day, more exposure to different teams and operational challenges, and more visibility with leadership. If you like juggling priorities and staying ahead of what's coming next, you'll do well here.

- Comfort with property management software and general computer proficiency
- Weekend availability (this position works Sunday through Thursday)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between both communities
