Job Description: Logistics Technician & Equipment Operator

Location: San Antonio / Pasco County, FL

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Operations Coordinator

Pay: $20-25 hourly

Job Summary

The Logistics Technician is responsible for the movement, maintenance, and staging of all heavy equipment and materials across multiple job sites. This role requires a hybrid skillset of professional driving (CDL), heavy equipment operation, and logistics management. You are the backbone of our site-efficiency, ensuring our field crews never have to wait on tools or materials.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Transport & Mobilization:Safely load, haul, and unload heavy equipment (Skid steers, excavators,mini-loaders) using gooseneck trailers and dump trucks.
  1. Site Logistics:Coordinate with Crew Leads to deliver materials (stone, sod, plant material) to job sites according to the weekly production schedule.
  1. Equipment Operation:Assistcrews by operating machinery for site prep, grading, and material staging as needed.
  1. Asset Management:Perform daily pre-trip inspections and weekly maintenance checks on trucks and trailers. Report any repair needsimmediatelyto the shop.
  1. Inventory Integrity:Maintainthe "Tool Inventory Sheet" for all support vehicles and ensure all specialized gear is tracked and returned to the yard.
  1. Vendor Coordination:Execute material pick-ups from local vendors and nurseries, ensuring loads areaccurateandsigned forcorrectly.

Required Qualifications

  1. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL):Class A.
  1. Equipment Experience:Minimum of 2–3yearsoperatingskid steers, mini-excavators, and forklifts in a construction or landscape setting.
  1. Clean Driving Record:No major violations in the last 3years;must be insurable under the company’s commercial policy.
  1. Technical Literacy:Ability to use digital tracking tools (like ADP or Inventory Apps) for timekeeping and asset tracking.
  1. Safety Mindset:Deep understanding of OSHA load-securing standards and trailer safety.

Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able tolift upto50lbsregularly.
  1. Ability to work outdoors in the Florida climate for extended periods.
