Job Overview

RTM is a 600+ person firm on a growth path towards being a 1,000 person firm in the next 5 years with both domestic and offshore talent. RTM has built a successful Human Resources team and we are looking for a director to help elevate and scale.

The Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic business advisor responsible for aligning the strategic business goals, cultural objectives and performance needs within the organization. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. Working closely as a business partner to operations, this position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance, and recognize performance and productivity.

The Director of Human Resources must be able to think broadly to provide solutions to global challenges across the entire RTM platform. This role will be hands-on providing support to the organization to achieve positive results to meet business-wide goals.

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Develops training and development programs and objectives. Modifies programs as needed.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Develops and implements departmental budget. 
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to team leaders (coaching, career development)
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities.
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 10+ years’ experience, including 5 years in management with a knowledge-worker based services business (e,g. technology, engineering, advisory services) of similar complexity across a dispersed, multi-office leadership team
  • Demonstrated experience scaling a technical knowledge worker organization (in the 250-1,000+ FTE range) through a combination of M&A and organic growth
  • Experience with nationwide teams across multiple offices.
  • Deep expertise in talent/professional and organization development, retention and effectiveness in a culture that prioritizes talent engagement and retention 
  • Experience supporting scaling organic growth with operational rigor, across talent attraction, retention, KPI development, performance management, and talent systems
  • Ability to establish effective talent processes and systems to support scaling 
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Change management track record with the ability to evolve culture, strengthen leadership depth, and support disciplined growth without destabilizing what has made the organization successful (e.g. experience with scaling growth, technology change (such as AI) and organization transformation)
  • Track record building, coaching, developing, and leading a high performing team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Mergers & Acquisition due diligence and integration
  • Combination of larger and smaller company Human Resource and talent management processes
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial organization with a continuous growth platform

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD 

Travel Requirements
