About this role

Traveling Registered Nurses are responsible for:

  • Supporting MEC staff to ensure smooth data collection activities for the day’s scheduled study participants.
  • Serving as MEC safety officer and lead emergency response activities.
  • Conducting quality assurance for MEC exams.
  • Obtaining informed consent, collect body and oscillometric measurements, biospecimens (including phlebotomy), spirometry, questionnaire data and other data as assigned.
  • Providing participant counseling and referrals based on preliminary results.
  • Maintaining equipment and supplies, submitting requests for restocking.
  • Setting up/packing up examination rooms, including packing, unpacking, and storing equipment and supplies per study protocols.
  • Assisting in setting up and shutting down the MEC including handling stair components, floor covers and expansion sides of vehicles.
  • Completing data entry using project software.
  • Ensuring compliance with study protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Attending and completing all required project training.
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of nursing experience in both direct patient care and supervisory roles.
  • Current RN license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (one of the 50 states or District of Columbia).
  • Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
  • Proficient in phlebotomy for all age groups, including infants.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
  • Strong communication skills, especially with children and parents.
  • Flexibility in assigned work schedules and tasks is essential.
  • Basic computer proficiency and clerical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Must possess valid US driver’s license.
  • In order to travel by air, federal law requires individuals to have a REAL ID or an acceptable alternative. This position may require the successful candidate to travel by air for business reasons. Accordingly, successful candidates must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID, or TSA approved alternative.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for driving the MEC vehicles (38 feet in length and over 26,000 lbs. in weight) to various study locations. Not required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
