About the Role
The Merchandising Coordinator keeps the day-to-day engine of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's retail operation running smoothly. This role is built around accuracy and follow-through — maintaining clean, correct data across the ecommerce platform and purchase orders, and carefully reconciling invoices against POs and shipments to catch discrepancies before they become problems. It's a highly detail-oriented, cross-functional role well-suited to someone who takes pride in getting the numbers and the details right.

What You’ll Do
E-Commerce Support
- Upload and organize product images on the ecommerce platform
- Support product activations, ensuring items go live accurately and on schedule
- Assist with SEO updates for product listings
- Perform detailed, accurate data entry to keep product and inventory information current across systems
- Regularly audit product and inventory data for errors or inconsistencies
Buying Support
- Create and manage purchase orders
- Track outstanding and open purchase orders, and process PO updates as needed
- Review and process vendor invoices
- Reconcile invoices line-by-line against purchase orders and shipments, flagging discrepancies before they progress
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors
- Communicate payment status to vendors, with support from the finance team
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records of POs and invoices
Sample Management
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to receive samples for photoshoots as needed
General
- Support other retail projects and initiatives as needed or assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience in retail, ecommerce, or administrative/coordination work is a plus, but not required
- Exceptional attention to detail — comfortable catching small errors in large sets of data or numbers
- Strong data entry skills and accuracy, with experience in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Methodical and patient approach to reconciliation and problem-solving
- Basic familiarity with e-commerce or purchase order systems, or willingness to learn quickly
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Clear, professional communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams
- Interest in music, retail operations, or the Rock Hall's mission is a plus
Success Metrics
- Accuracy of data entry across product, inventory, and PO/invoice records
- Purchase orders and invoices processed accurately and on schedule
- Discrepancies caught and resolved promptly, before they escalate
- Accuracy and timeliness of product uploads and activations
- Positive feedback from cross-functional partners (buying, ecommerce, finance, warehouse)
Requirements
- Ability to read and demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical and manual skills. Ability to communicate and be articulate in standard English.
- High school graduate and equivalent professional experience (bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.)
- Excellent listening and communication skills, including written and oral.
- Positive, outgoing approach and enjoys interacting and working with others.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
- A professional, proactive, and resourceful style with the ability to work independently without close oversight.
- Experience with regularly communicating status of assignments; organizing and prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Understands implicitly how to work with different people, approaches others in a positive manner, and builds solid long-term relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization.
- Computer Literate: Microsoft Products with strength in MS Excel.
Working Conditions
- Environmental Parameters: Ability to work in a window-less office. Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in all types of weather conditions. Ability to work in crowds of people. Ability to work with loud house music.
- Physical Demands:
- Strength: Ability to lift/move items weighing up to 20 lbs. (approximately)
- Type: Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word and to perceive nature of sounds. Ability to hear accurately to interact with the public and co-workers. Demonstrate clarity of vision; judge distance and space relationships; identify and distinguish colors. Ability to perform tasks concurrently. Work involves sitting most of the time but will involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

- Administrative: Ability to complete forms. Ability to pay attention to detail and accurately distinguish data. Ability to organize and prioritize various schedules, data and documents.
- Manual:
- Motor Coordination: Ability to make necessary movements in selecting, picking and depositing items.
- Finger Dexterity: Ability to pick, pinch or otherwise work with fingers to operate above equipment. Ability to pick up a variety of items and place them on shelves; to move knobs, buttons or switches.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with hands. Ability to shake, sort, fold or stack items; to place and retrieve items.
Work Schedule
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week; primarily Monday – Friday, approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to flex schedule when needed based on business demands.

Benefits and Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $43,000 – $50,000, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
