POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regional Sales Director (RSD) leads a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) to meet and exceed sales objectives for an assigned division, with direct accountability for revenue growth, account retention, and category penetration within the region. The RSD builds, coaches, and develops a high-performing field team - drives adoption of Revision Skincare's commercial strategy (Growth of Core SKUs, New Account Acquisition, and Leading Innovation launches); and cultivates strategic relationships with dermatologists, plastic surgeons, medical spas, and key accounts to strengthen brand loyalty and organizational awareness.
The role combines people leadership, execution of Revision’s vision & strategies, disciplined use of data and CRM tools to plan, forecast, and report on regional performance, and requires the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and professionalism across all customer and internal interactions.
LOCATION
The RSD is remote-based within the assigned region and must reside within or near the territory. This position requires travel throughout the region and nationally as needed for sales meetings, national and regional conventions, trade shows, and field rides; travel is estimated at 65%, including overnight travel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Develops, implements, and executes regional plans to achieve sales team goals within the approved national sales plan, including territory alignment and resource allocation.
- Drives regional execution of company commercial initiatives (Innovation targets, Core SKU growth, and New Account acquisition), translating national strategy intoplans that can be executed by the BDMs ataccount-level.
- Identifies and prioritizes key and strategic accounts within the region based on sales opportunity, growth potential, and partnership fit; builds account-specific growth plans in partnership with BDMs.
- Monitors and evaluates competitor activity and marketdynamics, andprovides regular updates to sales and marketing leadership on regional business conditions.
- Manages the regional budget, monitoring and controllingexpendituresto meet budgetary requirements.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Directs all phases of field sales management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance evaluationfor BDMs.
- Conducts regular field rides, one-on-one coaching sessions, and performance reviews to build a team culture of accountability, continuous learning, and customer-focused selling.
- Supervises all aspects of field sales activity, including customer contact, sales meetings, field testing and evaluation of marketing programs, and review of training programs.
- Demonstrates and models a high level of integrity and accountability through leadership activities with BDMs, customers, and internal departments.
Reporting, Systems & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintains disciplined CRM documentation, forecasting accuracy, and pipeline management to support regional planning and performance tracking.
- Provides regular reporting of sales results, sales trends, individual performance, and forecast projections to appropriate levels of management.
- Partners with Marketing, Commercial Operations, Strategic Accounts, and Training & Education teams todevelop andfield-test sales programs, promotions, and account-building resources.
- Actively participates in company sales meetings, national and regional conventions, trade shows, and district/regional conference calls.
- Represents region performance trends and opportunities in regular business reviews withleadership,andrepresents the region in cross-functional planning discussions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Regional Sales Director directly supervises 8 to 10 Business Development Managers and supports their sales activities and customer relationship management. The RSD carries out supervisory and customer-facing responsibilities in accordance with company policies and all applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required; a focus in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of8 - 10years of progressive B2B sales experience, with direct, hands-on experience in skincare, aesthetics, dermatology, medical device, or specialty pharmaceutical sales strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience directly managing, coaching, and developing a field sales team; demonstrated success recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-performing reps.
- Documented and consistent track record of high-level sales performance and goal attainment (e.g., President's Club or equivalent recognition).
- Experience developing and executing strategic or key account growth plans, ideally within a physician-dispensed, medical aesthetics, or specialty retail channel.
- Successful track record in at least one of the following highly preferred: Marketing, Trade, Sales Training, and/or National/Strategic Accounts.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate strategy and performance data into tactical, executable regional plans.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sales tracking and reporting software, and Microsoft Office (or equivalent); disciplined forecasting and pipeline management habits.
- Budget management experience, including planning and monitoring regional expenditures.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage physicians, practice staff, and internal leadership.
- Demonstrates high level of integrity and accountability via a strong leadership track record.
- Ability to travel regionally and nationally as needed; overnight travelestimatedat 65%.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
