The position
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trades Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will
participate in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, and vegetation management activities, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will provide support to the site team and technicians while contributing to innovative projects within the renewable energy sector.

Accountabilities
• Support routine and advanced maintenance and inspections on electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Vegetation control and panel cleaning using powered and non-powered equipment.
• Perform regular inspections and checks to monitor performance.
• Support the repair and replacement of faulty components.
• Coordinate spare parts and material use, ensuring correct stock count.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and stock count
• Support any emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, systems, and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Skills
• Experience in similar role supporting vegetation management, electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in software and basic computer skills desired
• Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed.


Experience
• Experience in similar role supporting Vegetation, electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
• Experience with mechanical systems used in solar farms (trackers, module cleaning)
Qualifications
• Trade certificate (or similar)
• Valid Drivers licence
• High Risk Work Licences (boom lift, forklift, dogging, rigging, telehandler etc desirable)
• Reporting to – Site Manager
• Location – Work across multiple sites within scope.
• Hours – 37.5hr week plus on call requirement and overtime
