Vice President, Operations
About this role
The Vice President, Operations is responsible for building a high-performing leadership team and developing and driving the Fluid Management Operations vision. This executive leader will have responsibility for the Fluid Management manufacturing network, comprised of four manufacturing sites and more than 380 employees, with direct leadership of the Site Leaders responsible for each location. The Vice President is committed to achieving key performance indicator targets and fostering a strong culture of continuous improvement across the network. This role ensures that operational procedures, policies, and standards are aligned with corporate objectives while cultivating a strong cross-site environment for collaboration, best-practice sharing, and procedural harmonization. The Vice President will collaborate closely with senior leadership and the broader operations organization to drive improvements in safety, quality, customer experience, productivity, efficiency, capacity, and inventory performance across the Fluid Management Network, while supporting long-term growth and operational excellence initiatives.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive operations and manufacturing strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
• Provide leadership and direction to Director-level Site Leaders and their respective leadership teams across multiple manufacturing facilities.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives focused on safety, quality, service, productivity, inventory management, and cost performance.
• Oversee manufacturing processes, capacity planning, workforce planning, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and achieve company goals while providing expertise and guidance on operational strategy, investments, and systems.
• Establish and maintain quality standards that meet regulatory, customer, and industry requirements.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, R&D, and Commercial teams to ensure reliable and cost-effective operations.
• Lead network-wide continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operational excellence methodologies.
• Develop long-term site strategies, including capacity expansion, footprint optimization, capital investments, and operational readiness.
• Manage operational budgets and performance metrics to achieve financial and business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of employee engagement and accountability.
• Attract, retain, develop, and succession plan high-performing leaders and teams throughout the organization.
• Promote cross-site collaboration, best-practice sharing, and process harmonization across the Fluid Management network.
• Provide data-driven insights, operational metrics, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership to support decision-making.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Bioprocessing, Operations, Biochemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive manufacturing, operations, or supply chain leadership experience.
- 10+ years of people leadership experience, including leadership of leaders and multi-site operations.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple manufacturing facilities and geographically dispersed leadership teams.
- Prior experience in a Vice President, Senior Director, General Manager, or equivalent executive operations leadership role.
- Experience operating within a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably within life sciences, bioprocessing, medical device, pharmaceutical, or related industries.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence, organizational transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong strategic planning, organizational, financial, and business acumen.
- Outstanding communication, influencing, and executive stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
