Manufacturing Apprentice
About this role
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the assembly of cassette components by following established SOPs, work instructions, training guidance, and direction from experienced team members.
- Learn and perform basic manufacturing tasks, including manual assembly of components into fixtures, trimming support, visual inspection, and preparation of materials for production.
- Support accurate and timely completion of process documentation, batch records, and other required manufacturing records under supervision.
- Read and follow basic drawings, Bills of Materials, and written instructions with guidance to ensure components and materials are handled correctly.
- Perform visual inspection of materials and components to internal quality standards, escalating questions or potential non-conformances to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, tooling, and production areas in accordance with department expectations.
- Interface with QA representatives and production personnel as directed to support product flow and quality requirements.
- Participate in required training and cross-training to build knowledge of manufacturing processes, controlled procedures, and quality expectations.
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately, ask questions when clarification is needed, and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new manufacturing processes as the company grows and support overtime needs as required, including weekends when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior manufacturing, cleanroom, GMP, ISO, or document-controlled experience is helpful but not required.
- Basic computer literacy required; exposure to MS Office, SAP, or similar systems is a plus.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and learn new processes through training.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following quality and safety procedures.
- Good organizational and communication skills, with the ability to ask questions and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to develop manufacturing skills through hands-on training.
- Ability to work efficiently within an ISO 9001 quality system with appropriate attention to controlled procedures.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. routinely.
