GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position is a Level II Software Developer supporting R.E. Mason's enterprise applications and software products. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in software development on enterprise applications and will be a highly communicative, detail-oriented, career-minded individual with the ability to multitask and work with a cross-functional development team. The successful candidate must be customer service oriented, resourceful, and able to take ownership of assignments through completion.

This role includes the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of business applications, web applications, APIs, cloud services, enterprise integrations, ERP solutions, databases, and development automation. The developer will work with business users and technical team members to understand requirements and develop secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions that support company operations and customer-facing products.

In addition to application development, this role will participate in the continued modernization of R.E. Mason's software and integration architecture, including Azure cloud services, event-driven integrations, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code, data platforms, and other technologies as business needs evolve.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand business and customer requirements and translate them into working code and technical solutions.
  • Provide recommendations on coding approaches, solution design, and software systems architecture.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software across frontend, backend, API, integration, database, and cloud layers.
  • Develop code in multiple languages such as, but not limited to, TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, Python, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
  • Develop and maintain web applications and reusable user-interface components using frameworks such as React.
  • Create and consume REST/OData APIs, event-driven integrations, and third-party system interfaces.
  • Develop and support IFS Cloud/ERP solutions and related enterprise applications and integrations.
  • Develop and deploy Azure solutions and participate in CI/CD automation and source-controlled Infrastructure as Code.
  • Apply secure development practices including authentication and authorization, secrets management, least-privilege access, and appropriate data or tenant isolation.
  • Participate in QA test plan development, automated testing, code reviews, release validation, and production support.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, upgrade, and support existing and legacy software and integrations.
  • Gather and evaluate user feedback, recommend and execute improvements, and create technical documentation for reference and reporting.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Experience with software design, development, testing, and support in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of one or more coding languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript, C#, Python, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL and related frameworks/systems.
  • Experience developing or supporting web applications, APIs, backend services, integrations, or similar enterprise software.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and common authentication and authorization concepts.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Prior experience with Git, Bitbucket, or another source control platform and collaborative code review practices.
  • Understanding of cloud-based application development and deployment; Microsoft Azure experience is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug software across multiple systems and application layers.
  • Ability to learn new languages, technologies, platforms, and business processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, resourcefulness, attention to detail, time management skills, and teamwork.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in software development on enterprise applications or other business-critical systems.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES

  • Experience developing full-stack web applications using React/TypeScript and backend APIs or services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Key Vault, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment technologies such as Bicep or Terraform.
  • Prior experience with IFS Cloud, including OData/projections, workflows/events, Oracle, or PL/SQL.
  • Enterprise integration or iPaaS experience with platforms such as MuleSoft/Anypoint, Power Automate, or Boomi.
  • Experience with data platforms such as Databricks, Azure Data Explorer/Kusto, or similar technologies.
  • Experience building or supporting multi-tenant SaaS, microservice/serverless, or cloud-migration solutions.
  • Experience with AI/LLM-enabled application development, agent frameworks, or AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience using ticketing and documentation systems such as Jira and Confluence and source control platforms such as Bitbucket.
