Instructor Job Description — Summary
An Instructor is responsible for effectively educating and supporting students while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism.
Core responsibilities include:
- Have strong subject-matter knowledge and accurately answer student questions.
- Provide guidance, advice, and constructive feedback while identifying and addressing student weaknesses.
- Plan, prepare, rehearse, and deliver course material effectively, including competent use of training technology and equipment.
- Teach as a primary or assistant Instructor when appropriately qualified and participate in Instructor orientation and course-material reviews.
- Communicate clear, correct standards and practices and support continuous learning and education.
- Promote impartiality, equal opportunity, and open communication among students.
- Deliver engaging, clear, and concise instruction that encourages participation and independent learning.
- Adapt communication and teaching methods to different students so information is understood.
- Demonstrate and promote safe work practices and serve as a positive role model.
- Never provide false or inaccurate information; technical questions outside the Instructor's role should be referred to the primary Instructor.
- Be inspiring, patient, dependable, and punctual.
- Help maintain the company’s reputation, quality standards, and professionalism.
