DF AY26/27 NSF RRF program Learning Assistants (LA)

Job Description:

Learning Assistants (LA) for former SPARK and/or RRF undergraduate students for biology CURE laboratories.

As part of the NSF grant funding the RRF program, we have an opportunity for paid learning assistants (LAs) for course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) next academic year. The CUREs are either introductory (BL259 or BL261) or advanced (BL469A or BL469B) laboratories and will be offered in fall and spring semesters. LAs will support one 2hr 40min laboratory section and participate in a 1hr weekly LA meeting (60 hours total, approx. 4hrs/wk in either fall or spring semester)

Program requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Must have previously completed the SPARK program or NJH research internship

This position is benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
