About the role:

The Resource Recovery Coordinator will be responsible for the timely and cost-effective management of Reject Stock across Redox, maximising its recovery value through sale, repurposing, reprocessing or reuse, and arranging compliant disposal when no practical alternative exists.

The role will maintain visibility of Reject Stock, prompt responsible employees to take action and follow each item through to an appropriate resolution.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate register of Reject Stock, including its location, quantity, condition, value, reason for rejection and proposed course of action
  • Regularly review ageing Reject Stock and prioritise items according to value, volume, storage risk and urgency
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate actions and time frame of processing stock
  • Prepare regular reports on Reject Stock holdings, recoveries, disposals, costs and trends.
  • Obtain and compare available reuse and disposal options based on safety, compliance, environmental outcome, practicality
  • Identify reoccurring causes and highlight opportunities to reduce packaging damage, excessive purchasing, expiry, deterioration and avoidable disposal costs
  • Develop practical relationships with recycling, reprocessing and waste-management providers

Essential requirements:

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage numerous outstanding items
  • Confident communication and follow-up skills
  • Practical problem-solving ability and sound commercial judgement
  • Basic competence with inventory systems, spreadsheets and reporting
  • Ability to work safely around chemical products and operating warehouse or manufacturing environments
  • Willingness to complete relevant internal and external training

Desirable:

  • Experience in chemicals, manufacturing, warehousing, inventory control, quality, recycling or waste management
  • Basic chemistry or chemical-handling knowledge
  • Certificate-level study in chemistry, laboratory operations, environmental management, waste management, supply chain or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets, dangerous goods, chemical compatibility and waste classification
  • Experience obtaining and comparing contractor quotations
