Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Backend Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Linthicum, Maryland. As part of the Secure the Enterprise initiative, you will help modernize system security evaluation and authorization processes through automation, streamlined approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data collection throughout the project lifecycle.

Working alongside a collaborative engineering team, you will develop, test, deploy, and maintain Python-based REST endpoints, microservices, and data management capabilities using Django and Flask. You will build middleware and backend services that interact with data models stored in MongoDB and MariaDB and deliver requested data to front-end applications in JSON format.

As a Senior Python Backend Engineer, you will have the opportunity to develop scalable backend services, support system-wide application integrations, and deliver modern API capabilities supporting critical national security missions.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Python-based backend applications and services.
  • Develop and sustain REST endpoints and microservices using Django and Flask.
  • Provide middleware and backend support across system applications.
  • Develop data management capabilities that interact with MongoDB and MariaDB.
  • Process and deliver requested application data to front-end user interfaces in JSON format.
  • Design and maintain integrations between backend services, databases, and front-end applications.
  • Develop and deploy containerized application capabilities using Docker.
  • Support the serialization and exchange of data using JSON and XML.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives involving automated security evaluations, streamlined approval processes, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data collection.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, database professionals, and other engineering team members to integrate and sustain application capabilities.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and release management.
  • Maintain application source code and support version-control activities using Git.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
  • Experience developing backend applications and services using Python.
  • Experience developing applications using Django or Flask.
  • Experience developing and integrating REST endpoints.
  • Experience designing, developing, or supporting microservices-based architectures.
  • Experience using Docker to build or deploy containerized applications.
  • Experience working with MongoDB or MariaDB.
  • Experience developing middleware and backend capabilities that support multiple applications.
  • Experience working with JSON data structures and integrating backend services with front-end applications.
  • All education and professional experience must be in a technical field directly related to the labor category. Diplomas, GED certificates, and degrees must be obtained from accredited institutions.
  • Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:
    • Twelve (12) years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Ten (10) years of relevant experience with an Associate’s degree.
    • Eight (8) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Six (6) years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree.
    • Four (4) years of relevant experience with a Doctorate degree.


Desired Skills:

  • Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, GICSP, CND, SSCP, or CCNA Security).
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or another cloud platform.
  • Experience with JSON and XML serialization.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience using Git for version control.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
