Senior Audit Associate 

Prosperity Partners ("Prosperity") is a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, transaction advisory and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States and private equity backing, Prosperity is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Audit Associate with 4-8 years of experience to support our rapidly growing audit practice. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments in accordance with firm policies and relevant regulations;
  • Perform and supervise fieldwork, including testing of internal controls, substantive testing, and documentation of audit findings;
  • Prepare and review working papers and financial statements in compliance with GAAP;
  • Assist in identifying and resolving accounting, auditing, and reporting issues;
  • Collaborate with clients and engagement teams to identify areas for improvement in processes and internal controls;
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to Audit Associates and interns;
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and discuss audit findings;
  • Stay current with accounting and auditing standards, as well as industry trends;
  • Support the preparation and presentation of audit reports and recommendations to management and senior client personnel;
  • Contribute to the firm’s commitment to high-quality client service and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification preferred;
  • 4–8 years of public accounting audit experience;
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards;
  • Experience working with the financial services industry, more specifically broker-dealers, investment partnerships/hedge funds and private equity funds;
  • Experience with Quality of Earnings reporting is a plus;
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;
  • Experience with audit software and data analysis tools preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines;
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff preferred;
  • High level of integrity and professionalism;
  • Availability to work in the office at least 2 days per week.
