Procon seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of complex federal facilities projects. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on mission-critical infrastructure while contributing to innovative engineering solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

This position does not offer employment visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience designing and reviewing mechanical building systems for complex facilities.
  • Proficiency with Revit and other commonly used CADD software.
  • Ability to interpret building codes, technical standards, drawings, and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel 10–20%, including occasional OCONUS travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP).
  • Autodesk Certified Professional.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Develop and review mechanical designs, planning documents, and technical reports for federal facilities projects.
  • Design mechanical building systems and coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, and electrical disciplines.
  • Conduct code compliance reviews, technical evaluations, and peer reviews of engineering deliverables.
  • Support projects through design, bidding, and construction while ensuring compliance with technical standards.
  • Develop project schedules, lifecycle cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Lead engineering tasks, prepare scopes of work, and provide technical and contract administration support.
Physical Requirements

This position requires regular onsite presence in an active construction environment. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Walking and standing for extended periods while performing site observations and inspections.
  • Navigating active construction areas, including stairs, uneven surfaces, temporary walkways, and varying elevations.
  • Occasionally bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing as necessary to observe construction activities.
  • Accessing mechanical, electrical, utility, process, and other construction areas as required.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and complying with all applicable site safety requirements.
  • Working in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to typical construction-site conditions, including noise, dust, weather, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
