What You'll Do
As a New Business Case Coordinator supporting Disability Insurance products, you'll manage new business applications from initial receipt through case closure. In this role, you'll serve as a key point of coordination between financial professionals, underwriting, and internal business partners to help ensure a smooth, accurate, and timely new business experience.
- Facilitate the processing of new business cases for a variety of distribution channels. This includes reviewing the application package for completeness and accuracy. It also involves ordering medical underwriting requirements and proactively following up on all needs to complete the new business case, among other tasks.
- Track cases through its life cycle to ensure stated service standards are met. Provide regular updates to all key stakeholders. Provide support for financial professionals, including updating outstanding requirements, assisting with obtaining forms, and answering questions.
- Establish effective working relationships by responding to financial professionals inquiries; provide information on products, services, and status of outstanding issues. Gather and record detailed information from financial professionals in order to resolve requests and concerns. Utilize opportunities to educate field staff and financial professionals on new business processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert regarding new business processing for different distribution channels to help facilitate development of training materials and documentation. Recommend to management ways to improve team and work efficiency.
- Research and implement state and federal regulations/compliance issues and their impacts on business processes.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as the need arises.

Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work related experience required
- Must develop a broad understanding of insurance operations, products and concepts
- Must have strong computer skills, aptitude, and proficiency at keyboarding
- Must exhibit quick judgment, excellent organizational skills, and accurate and precise written and verbal communication
- Must exhibit positive relationship building with internal and external customers and be able to respond to a difficult situation that requires tact and diplomacy
- Must exhibit good decision-making when working on complex casework and making exceptions during new business processing
- Must exhibit the ability to prioritize work, maintaining service standards in the face of peak times and heavy workloads, and frequent interruptions
- Able to multi-task in a fast paced changing environment with high accuracy and within established turnaround times
- Must be an effective team player and a positive influence within the organization
- Must develop solid product knowledge across all lines
- Must work professionally and respectfully with demanding and diverse distribution channels
- Participation in industry continuing education is strongly recommended
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$18.17 - $29.31 / hour

- Wichita, KS: $18.17 - $22.23 / hr
- Des Moines, IA: $19.18 - $23.58 / hr
- Charlotte, NC: $20.19 - $24.92/ hr
- Chicago/Minneapolis: $22.21 - $27.62 / hr
- Los Angeles/New York City: $24.23 hr - $29.31 / hr
Time Off Program
Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.
