POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of our programs, including inpatient, residential, and the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The RN plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care to individuals participating in these programs. The ideal candidate will have a background in psychiatric nursing, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to providing holistic care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct nursing assessments to evaluate the physical and mental health status of patients in theprogram assigned.
- Administer medications,monitorresponses, and collaborate with the treatment team to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Monitor vital signs, mental health symptoms, and overall well-being of patients throughout the day program.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions, including psychiatric crises.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients to support their mental health and overall well-being.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Provide health education to patients and their families, including medication management, symptom recognition, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to conduct educational groups on relevant health topics.
- Work closely with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings, caseconferences, and contribute to treatment planning.
- Assistin managing psychiatric crises by providing immediate nursing interventions and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure patient safety.
- Maintainaccurateand up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to ensuretimelycompletion of required documentation.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license inWashington, D.C.
- Experience in psychiatric nursing ora relatedmental health field.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
- ProficientcomputerskillsinMicrosoftOutlookandotherstandardsoftwareapplications.
