Job Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations, ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time while maintaining safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, order fulfillment, managing relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, warehouse procedures, and safety requirements established by the company and regulatory agencies.
- Review daily warehouse workload and shipping and receiving requirements at the start of each shift, assign work to employees, and ensure smooth handoffs between shifts.
- Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, inventory movements, staging, loading and unloading, and cycle counts.
- Monitor employee attendance, timekeeping and punches, and adherence to break and meal schedules, addressing discrepancies and concerns in accordance with company procedures.
- Lead, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to warehouse employees regarding performance, productivity, attendance, safety, quality, and adherence to company expectations.
- Train new and existing employees on warehouse processes, equipment, safety procedures, GMPs, and company standards, ensuring employees are properly trained to perform assigned responsibilities.
- Oversee the accurate and timely completion of warehouse documentation, including shipping and receiving records, inventory transactions, and other required paperwork.
- Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and ensure inventory movements, receipts, shipments, transfers, and adjustments are properly documented.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including FTL/LTL shipments, and maintain effective communication with carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and internal departments.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork by promoting safe work practices, maintaining an organized warehouse environment, and ensuring employees follow established policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to improve safety, inventory accuracy, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, particularly during employee absences or changing operational and business needs.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in warehouse operations (shipping and receiving, order fulfillment); experience in food or beverage production highly preferred.
- NetSuite experience preferred; experience with similar ERP systems also considered.
- Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams, with strong leadership skills to motivate, mentor, and develop employees.
- Math skills and the ability to complete detailed paperwork accurately.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, forklift operation, and tools used in a shipping/receiving environment.
- Experience with using Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback to team members.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and maintain positive working relationships with peers and management.
- Ability to handle sensitive company information with the utmost discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Commitment to upholding food safety, quality control, and safety standards, with the ability to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in a cold environment (refrigerated areas) for extended periods, with temperatures as low as 35°F.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks safely.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
