Position Title: IT Manager 

Position Summary: The IT Manager, System Administration is responsible for the day-to-day operation, security, and reliability of IT systems at the Major Tool site. This role leads a local IT team, sets priorities for site level IT work, and serves as the primary point of contact for infrastructure, server, network, and endpoint issues at Major Tool. The IT Manager partners closely with the Director of IT for the Large Format division on standardization, security, and integration initiatives.

Personnel: Site IT Team

Accountabilities: Provide direction on new technology and process assessment; ensure resources are best utilized to achieve short- and long-term goals. Analyze and evaluate problems and recommend solutions; provide periodic reports to executive management. Ensure a qualified staff exist through appropriate hiring, training, cross-training, and development, with monthly one-on-one meetings for performance review and improvement actions.

Authorities: Oversee the ongoing continual improvement of the finance and information technology functions utilizing best practices of 6S, Lean Six Sigma methods. Final authority regarding processes within area of direct responsibilities, in accordance with company policy and procedure and the strategic business plan. Managerial authority regarding personnel issues in accordance with company policy and legal requirements, including hiring and termination. Approval of overtime schedules for personnel assigned to area. Determine access authorizations to software/databases and restricted facility areas within area of responsibility.

Duties:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop an IT team supporting servers, network, storage, and endpoints at the Major Tool site
  • Own site level system administration for Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, and backup/recovery
  • Manage and assist with network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless, and site connectivity to the corporate WAN
  • Maintain and assist with endpoint management, patching, and antivirus/EDR coverage across Major Tool systems including workstations, servers, appliances, and applications.
  • Support CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance requirements at the site, including access controls, logging, and asset inventory
  • Coordinate and assist with site IT work with corporate initiatives, including M365 GCC High operations, data governance, and security tooling deployments
  • Manage local vendor relationships, hardware lifecycle, and IT capital planning for the Major Tool site
  • Own incident response and root cause analysis for site level outages and security events, escalating to the Director of IT as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of site systems, configurations, and procedures
  • Set daily and weekly priorities for the site IT team
  • Conduct regular one on ones, performance reviews, and development planning for direct reports
  • Recruit, onboard, and train IT team members as the team grows
  • Build a consistent operating rhythm with the Director of IT, including status updates and escalation of site risks
  • Occasional travel to other Precinmac sites for training, standardization work, or coverage
  • May require after-hours support for critical outages or maintenance windows

Job Qualification Requirements:

Educational Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline preferred.

Experience – 

  • 7+ years of experience in system administration, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, Intune, Defender, etc. and virtualization platforms
  • 5+ years leading or supervising an IT team, formally or informally
  • Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, firewalls, VPN, Cisco preferred)
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial site is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on site with limited direct supervision
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to report status to division leadership
  • Eligible to work with export controlled and defense related data at a U.S. manufacturing site

Preferred Experience – 

  • Experience in a defense, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, or similar compliance frameworks
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, including GCC High or other government community cloud environments
  • Exposure to ERP systems and manufacturing applications

Physical Demands – The employee is required to:

  • stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
  • exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
  • exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
  • exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Normally works in a shop environment and may frequently be subject to:

  • High noise levels from machinery
