Your role and key responsibilities

This role supports the assessment, design, and implementation of network and server infrastructure solutions within PowerCo Canada. The position involves analyzing vendors, technologies, costs, and architectural options to guide decision‑making for new infrastructure initiatives. It contributes to developing Proofs of Concept (PoCs), gathering technical data, and preparing detailed reports and comparison materials.

This role will pay $27/hour and is in-person in our St. Thomas office.

  
 
What you bring to the team

Assist in evaluating and comparing vendors, technologies, and solutions for network and server infrastructure, including both active and passive components.

Analyze investment and operational costs, as well as the complexity, scalability, and manageability of proposed solutions.

Contribute to the development of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for new network architectures and server platform deployments.

Collaborate with PowerCo Canada’s Cybersecurity Team to support the design, architecture, and implementation of robust security controls and frameworks.

Support the application of industry best practices to secure both IT systems and Shopfloor (Operational Technology) environments across the facility.

Collect and analyze technical data to support informed decision‑making for infrastructure projects.

Prepare technical reports, comparison matrices, and presentation materials.Reduce workload on the core team by supporting research, documentation, and technical analysis tasks.

  
 
What makes you stand out

Currently pursuing secondary education in Electrical enginering or related field at a Canadian Institution, ideally in a co-op program.

Strong interest in IT infrastructure, wireless communication, and cybersecurity
Excellent analytical, research, and documentation skills.
Familiarity with networking concepts, wireless technologies, or cybersecurity is an asset.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team
