Your Impact
As the Studio Lead, you will serve as the operational and strategic leader of the studio, balancing client success, team development, project execution, and business growth. You will oversee multiple client accounts, mentor high-performing teams, and collaborate closely with regional leadership to ensure operational excellence and profitability.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a critical role in expanding PM Design's presence within your market while maintaining the highest standards of quality, service, and innovation.
What You'll Do
Lead Studio Operations
- Oversee day-to-day studio operations, staffing, and resource planning.
- Develop and improve systems, workflows, and operational processes that enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure studio resources, facilities, technology, and support functions operate seamlessly.
- Drive operational excellence while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
Build and Develop High-Performing Teams
- Lead, mentor, and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct quarterly check-ins, annual performance reviews, and career development discussions.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and accountable team culture.
- Support employee growth through coaching, mentoring, and continuing education opportunities.
- Recognize achievements while providing constructive feedback that drives improvement.
Drive Project Success
- Partner with internal architectural teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and profitability targets.
- Identify risks early and implement solutions to maintain project success.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with PM Design's quality standards.
Strengthen Client Relationships
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key clients.
- Build long-term client partnerships through exceptional service and communication.
- Support Program Managers during transitions as client programs grow.
- Participate in client presentations, strategic discussions, and relationship-building initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client engagements and service offerings.
Champion Business Growth
- Actively pursue new business opportunities within the local and regional market.
- Attend industry networking events and represent PM Design within the community.
- Collaborate with business development teams to strengthen market presence.
- Expand relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities with emerging national accounts.
- Support studio revenue and profitability goals through strategic growth initiatives.
Ensure Excellence & Quality
- Promote quality assurance standards across all projects.
- Implement processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and risk management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the studio.
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Create production strategies that support quality delivery and client satisfaction.
Oversee Financial Performance
- Support budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting efforts.
- Monitor studio performance against profitability and gross profit targets.
- Collaborate with accounting teams on project billing, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Manage staffing and workload forecasts to maximize utilization and operational performance.
What You Bring
- Registered Architect
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Masters preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in retail commercial architecture, national roll out programs preferred
- Previous experience leading teams, managing studio operations, or overseeing multiple client accounts.
- Proven track record of project driving success, client satisfaction, and business growth.
- Experience in managing project budgets, staffing plans, and operational performance.
