About this role

Protective Industrial Products is looking for a highly motivated Payroll Accountant to administer our payroll, travel & expense accounting. This role reports to the Global Payroll Manager and will work closely with resources in finance, payroll, benefits, HR and other accounting functions. We are looking for a candidate who is highly collaborative and analytical, who excels at problem solving and can work both independently and as an effective contributor in a close-knit team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare weekly, biweekly and monthly journal entries, accruals, forecasts, and reconciliations related to payroll and other compensation-related transactions.
  • Balance payroll, payroll tax and vendor service-related bank activity, supporting the annual budget process and audit.
  • Work closely with the payroll provider to coordinate timely payroll tax filings.
  • Support integration efforts for acquired companies and system implementations.
  • Support the SAP Concur Travel and Expense reporting system, process monthly expenses and accruals, assist with expense report accounting audits and initiate out-of-pocket reimbursements.
  • Support integration efforts for acquired companies and system implementations.
  • Prepare payroll and employment-related reports and provide back-up for the US Payroll Administrator.

CORE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting or related accounting role(s) required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
  • Experience in integrated travel and expense systems (SAP Concur) preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems (ADP Lyric) preferred
  • Experience with ERP platforms (Epicor Solar Eclipse/SysPro ERP) preferred
  • American Payroll Association FPC or CPP certification preferred
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
