About this role
The ESG Product Compliance Specialist supports the integration of sustainability considerations into the company’s product portfolio. This role focuses on driving environmental responsibility across the product and packaging lifecycle from design and sourcing to production and end-of-life, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant product regulations across global markets. In addition, the specialist provides critical support to the ESG Product and Supplier Compliance Director by helping with supplier engagement, product data governance, and other sustainability-related tasks.
- Drive data collection and verification initiatives across the supply chain to support corporate ESG reporting and product environmental footprint transparency. - Maintain comprehensive databases for vendor sustainability assessments, certifications, and product environmental footprint tracking. - Support product and sustainability team in supplier engagement in product and packaging-related sustainability initiatives such as eco-design, LCA, recycled / renewable raw materials, end-of-life treatment alternatives, and other circularity topics. - Support globally in monitoring, interpreting, and implementing requirements of relevant product and packaging regulations and customer expectations (e.g., digital product passport, chemical safety compliance, packaging regulation, and other global eco-design regulations). - Oversee product sustainability claims, ensuring they are verifiable, accurate, and aligned with anti-greenwashing standards. - Work closely with product development, marketing, procurement, compliance teams, regional sustainability leaders, and external suppliers
Education - Bachelor’s degree in Product Engineering, Industrial Design, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Regulatory Affairs, or equivalent Technical Skills - Product sustainability master data management and governance, including attributes, hierarchies, and bill of materials. - Processing raw product data, supplier inputs, and lifecycle information into trustworthy evidence for ESG disclosures, packaging claims, and product compliance. - Strong understanding of environmental regulations, product compliance standards, and sustainability frameworks. - Knowledge of sustainable materials, product stewardship, recyclability, circular design principles, and Life Cycle Assessment. - Experience collaborating with suppliers and collecting/validating technical product documentation. - Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and supplier engagement with business fluency in English (e.g., CET 6). - Proactive, self-motivated, and empathetic, with a passion for sustainability.
