Field Engineer – Infrastructure Group

We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Field Engineer to join our Infrastructure Group in Houston. This is a unique entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to launch a career in heavy civil construction, gaining hands-on experience alongside seasoned project managers and superintendents on underground utility, wastewater treatment, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day field engineering tasks across underground utility and heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Assist with layout, grade checks, and quantity verification in coordination with survey crews
- Track and maintain accurate quantity take-offs, material logs, and as-built documentation
- Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation
- Maintain detailed daily field reports, photo logs, and progress documentation
- Assist in reviewing plans, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy and constructability
- Support Quality Control efforts, including inspections, testing coordination, and documentation
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to track deliveries and field progress
- Assist with scheduling updates and support development of CPM schedules
- Champion our safety culture by participating in JSAs, toolbox talks, and daily safety practices

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- 0-2 years of experience in construction, internships, or co-ops considered a strong plus
- Genuine interest in heavy civil, underground utilities, or wastewater treatment construction
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore, AutoCAD, or P6 is a plus
- Eager to learn, coachable, and comfortable working both in the field and in an office setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
