About this role

Description

Are you a culinary-trained professional ready to step into leadership?

Personal Touch Food Service, Inc. is looking for a passionate, driven individual to join our team as a Manager in Training. This is your opportunity to build real management skills in a supportive environment — with a direct path to running your own account.

About the Role

As a Manager in Training, you'll work alongside experienced food service leaders across all areas of our operations — from kitchen production and menu development to staff supervision and client relations. Our structured, 90–180 day rotational program is designed to fast-track your growth from culinary professional to confident manager.

This is a full-time position operating during the school year, giving you a consistent, predictable schedule aligned with our educational food service accounts.

What You'll Do

Kitchen & Operations

  • Lead and assist in daily meal production, following established menus and quality standards
  • Rotate through all kitchen and service stations to master every aspect of operations
  • Ensure food safety, HACCP compliance, and ServSafe standards are upheld at all times

Team Leadership

  • Shadow managers in scheduling, coaching, and directing kitchen and front-of-house staff
  • Run pre-shift meetings and help onboard new team members
  • Build a positive, collaborative team culture every day

Culinary Creativity

  • Collaborate on seasonal menus and new recipe development
  • Bring fresh ideas that reflect current food trends and meet client needs
  • Support themed events and special dining experiences

Business & Client Relations

  • Learn food and labor cost management to hit budgetary goals
  • Assist with ordering, inventory, and vendor coordination
  • Build strong relationships with on-site client contacts and respond to their feedback

Requirements

 What We're Looking For

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management — preferred
  • 1–2 years of experience in a food service or restaurant setting
  • A natural leader who's eager to learn and grow
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
