Position Summary

The Catering Delivery Driver is responsible for accurately, safely, and professionally delivering and setting up catering orders for Leeann Chin customers throughout the Twin Cities metro area. This part-time/on-call employee role supports weekday corporate lunch deliveries and may include optional evening or weekend assignments based on business needs. The Catering Delivery Driver represents the Leeann Chin brand through professional appearance, strong guest service, reliable communication, safe driving practices, and careful handling of catering products and supplies.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Catering Delivery and Order Fulfillment

  • Pick up catering orders from assigned Leeann Chin locations and deliver them accurately and efficiently to customer locations.
  • Verify order accuracy, delivery details, supplies, utensils, and setup needs before departure when applicable.
  • Follow assigned route, delivery instructions, and time schedule to support timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Load, unload, transport, and handle catering orders with care to maintain food quality, presentation, and safety.
  • Complete professional catering setup at the customer-designated location according to company standards and customer instructions.

Guest Service and Communication

  • Represent Leeann Chin in a professional, courteous, and brand-positive manner with corporate clients and customers.
  • Maintain timely communication with the Corporate Delivery Office, restaurant teams, and customers as directed.
  • Use sound judgment and on-the-spot problem-solving to address delivery issues, access concerns, timing changes, or customer questions.
  • Escalate customer concerns, delivery delays, safety issues, or order discrepancies to management promptly.
  • Maintain a neat appearance and positive attitude while interacting with customers, team members, and business partners.

Administrative and Payment Support

  • Collect payments, obtain customer signatures, and complete delivery paperwork or electronic confirmations as required.
  • Follow company procedures for handling receipts, gratuities, documentation, reimbursement records, and delivery information.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling customer, payment, company, route, or delivery information.
  • Submit mileage, delivery, or other required records accurately and on time according to company policy.

Driving, Safety, and Compliance

  • Operate a personal or approved vehicle safely and in compliance with applicable traffic laws, DMV requirements, and company safety standards.
  • Maintain a valid driver license, acceptable motor vehicle record, reliable vehicle, and required automobile insurance throughout employment.
  • Use safe lifting, loading, unloading, and driving practices to protect employees, customers, company property, and the public.
  • Report accidents, traffic incidents, vehicle concerns, injuries, unsafe conditions, or delivery-related issues to management immediately.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable employment requirements.

Food Safety and Product Handling

  • Handle catering items in a manner that supports food quality, safe transport, and professional presentation.
  • Follow company food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, illness reporting, and allergen-awareness procedures.
  • Protect food and supplies from contamination during loading, transport, delivery, and setup.
  • Report food quality, food safety, or temperature concerns to management immediately.
  • Participate in required food safety or delivery-related training as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old based on company driving, insurance, and delivery requirements.
  • Must hold a valid driver license and have been licensed for at least one year.
  • Must pass a motor vehicle background check and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle suitable for catering deliveries and current automobile insurance meeting company requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide required employment documentation.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and exceptional guest service skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, solve problems, and work independently with limited supervision.

Experience

  • Previous delivery, catering, restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or route-based work experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience interacting with corporate clients or business customers is preferred.
  • Experience handling payments, delivery documentation, or customer signatures is helpful.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Successful completion of company onboarding, delivery procedures, food safety, and workplace safety training is required.
  • Additional food safety, safe driving, or customer service training may be required by company policy.

Schedule and Employment Status

  • This is a part-time/on-call employee position with Leeann Chin and is not a contract position.
  • Primary availability is typically Monday through Friday,based on business needs and delivery volume.
  • Delivery assignments are based on geographic need, customer demand, availability, and business requirements; daily work is not guaranteed.
  • Optional evening and weekend shifts may be available depending on business needs.
  • Employees are expected to follow company timekeeping, scheduling, call-in, and attendance procedures.

Compensation and Reimbursement

  • Compensation includes an hourly wage, subject to applicable wage and hour laws and company policy.
  • Employees may be eligible for gratuity payouts in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided for eligible deliveries in accordance with company policy.
  • All pay, gratuity, mileage, and reimbursement practices should be administered in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, load, unload, and set up catering orders throughout the shift.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, including catering bags, trays, beverage containers, supplies, and related equipment.
  • Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly and navigate customer locations, parking areas, sidewalks, elevators, stairs, and delivery areas as needed.
  • Use hands and fingers to carry items, operate a phone or delivery device, complete paperwork, and handle payment or delivery materials.
  • Safely drive for extended periods and remain alert to traffic, weather, route, and customer location conditions.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in restaurant locations, customer sites, vehicles, parking areas, sidewalks, loading areas, office buildings, and other delivery environments.

  • Delivery volume, route locations, and work duration may vary based on business needs.
  • The role requires frequent interaction with customers, restaurant teams, Corporate Delivery Office personnel, and management.
  • Employees must follow safe driving practices and company safety procedures at all times.
