About this role
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage resident accounts, including balances, payments, adjustments, and account reconciliation
- Monitor delinquency and complete consistent collection follow-up
- Prepare late notices, payment demands, legal documentation, and eviction-related paperwork as required
- Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity and resident communications
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and research account discrepancies as needed
- Manage lease renewals, renewal documentation, and resident retention efforts
- Review move-in and move-out documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with final account statements, charges, credits, and deposit dispositions
- Respond to resident account questions and resolve concerns professionally and timely
- Maintain accurate resident files, records, and documentation
- Assist with lease administration and ensure documentation complies with company policies and Fair Housing requirements
- Support the community manager with daily operational and administrative responsibilities
- Assist with invoice processing, vendor documentation, and other property-level financial responsibilities
- Review reports and follow up on outstanding operational items
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling resident, employee, and financial information
- Communicate professionally with residents, prospects, vendors, coworkers, and leadership
- Work collaboratively with the leasing and maintenance teams to support overall community performance
- Maintain clear ownership of assigned responsibilities while supporting the team when additional assistance is needed
- Follow established communication, escalation, and approval procedures
- Demonstrate sound judgment when handling resident concerns and sensitive situations
- Meet established deadlines and maintain organized records
- Participate in property inspections, resident events, and other community initiatives as needed
- Assist the community manager with additional duties necessary to support the property's operational and financial goals
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of multifamily property management experience preferred
- Previous assistant manager or similar property management experience strongly preferred
- Strong experience with resident account management, collections, delinquency, and lease administration
- Working knowledge of multifamily accounting and property financials
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to receive direction and feedback professionally and implement changes when needed
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an onsite team
- Knowledge of Fair Housing requirements and multifamily industry practices
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred
