.NET Engineer - AI Tools (mid-level)
About this role
Overview
As a Software Engineer II, you will develop new features and maintain existing cloud-native services within a modern software delivery platform — working across a .NET/ASP.NET Core API, a React front end, and/or Kubernetes-deployed services, closely with end-users, IT peers, and management.
Responsibilities
- Develop new applications and modify/maintain existing cloud-native solutions, working closely with end-users, IT peers, and management.
- Drive agentic development practices across a modern AI software delivery platform
- Make changes to prevent recurrence of defects, modifying existing code and faulty files, writing and running tests to validate fixes.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across development and production environments.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and application monitoring.
- Document new applications and changes made to existing applications.
- Participate in unit, integration, and business acceptance testing of the applications.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Estimate development effort, contribute to technical discussions, and participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Do whatever is necessary to get to your team's definition of done.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tooling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field - Preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience with C# and .NET Core / .NET.
- Hands-on experience building ASP.NET Core Web APIs; familiarity with EF Core and LINQ preferred.
- Exposure to containerized services (Docker) and/or Kubernetes-based deployment is a plus.
Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or another relational database, including basic query design and optimization. - Some familiarity with front-end development (React/TypeScript) is a plus, given the platform's full-stack nature.
- Be able to describe the above in a logical software stack.
- Understanding of unit testing concepts and frameworks preferred.
- Ability to be self-directed. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiar with an Agile environment.
- Familiar with Git, Azure DevOps/GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity using AI tools for development is a real plus — experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate day-to-day development.
- Participation and familiarity with open source projects is a plus.
