Pharmacy Technician

REPORTS TO: Staff Pharmacist/PIC & Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY: Under a pharmacist’s supervision, performs designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications.

MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES AND JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge of basic drug terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.

1. Ability to work with others.

1. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

1. Possess good organizational and time management skills.

1. Proficient in data entry and use of a computer.

1. Possesses the ability and initiative to plan for and complete daily activities with minimal direction.

1. Dependable in attendance and job performance.

1. Must be a Registered pharmacy technician and must have a current unrestricted license with South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Preferably, minimum one-year’s experience as a pharmacy technician preparing labels and maintaining pharmacy needs.

EDUCATION:

1. Pharmacy Technician License required

1. State Certified Pharmacy Technician License preferred
