Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse is responsible for providing, coordinating, and supervising patient care in accordance with established standards and the nursing process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans
- Deliver and evaluate safe, high-quality patient care
- Coordinate care with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-hospitalization care
- Assist patients and families in accessing appropriate community resources
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Promote patient safety and quality of care
- Supervise and delegate patient care activities as appropriate
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Charge Nurse responsibilities may be required based on experience and assignment. ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurse responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the hospital is located, or a valid compact nursing license if applicable
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be American Heart Association (AHA) approved
- Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses
Experience
- One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred, but not required
- Experience in acute care, LTACH, critical care, or other inpatient settings is a plus
- New graduate RNs may be considered based on qualifications and facility needs
Pay Range
