Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer - UK Government
About this role
What we're looking for:
We need someone with 1-5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or SRE who has hands-on experience building, operating, and maintaining large-scale production systems. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment with on-call responsibilities and have a track record of automating manual processes and improving system reliability. Bonus points if you have defense tech or government experience and Kubernetes expertise.
What you'll do:
Build, operate, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable services for Palantir platforms across UK government deployments
Take ownership of production infrastructure reliability including monitoring, alerting, configuration management, and upgrades
Work closely with forward deployed teams and product teams to participate in sensible, scalable systems design and share responsibility for diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues
Deploy new Palantir products across production environments and perform migrations to the latest infrastructure types
Lead automation efforts to reduce manual operations — developing novel solutions using Palantir's Foundry and Apollo platforms, including industry-leading LLM and AI technology
Debug, improve, and optimise Palantir's services and infrastructure with a focus on long-term reliability and scalability
Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately every 5-6 weeks) providing technical troubleshooting support for production issues
Key details:
UK Security Clearance (SC or above) required, or ability to obtain clearance
Hybrid role based in London — in-office expected, especially for classified work and on-call rotations
Relocation assistance available for candidates outside London
Compensation includes base salary (£90, 000–£105, 000 GBP) plus RSUs
