Pacific Coast Producers, one of the nation’s top food production companies in the U.S., is seeking to fill General Labor positions with qualified, to join its team at its Production Facility in The Dalles, OR.  PCP is dedicated to investing in its people and fostering a culture of service.

Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour. Weekend and overtime hours required when needed. This is a full-time, on-site role based at our Production Facility in The Dalles, Oregon. This position provides advancement opportunities commensurate with the employee’s demonstrated abilities and achievements.

 

These positions are part of a seniority based collective bargaining (CBA) unit and required to work on various shifts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide general labor services as instructed by supervisor or management team.
  • Grades, sorts, or classifies fruit by size, weight, color, or condition.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas.
  • Labeling and preparing products for shipment.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures to include Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP’s).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Ability to safely walk, climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces to arrive at work location.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor/management and understand safety notices and signs
  • Must be able to work any of the three shifts, overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.

Physical Requirements: Frequent physical activity includes walking, bending, standing, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently, touching, reaching, gripping, finger dexterity, and hearing.  Moderate physical activity may include stooping, color identification, close vision, and depth perception. Under strenuous conditions, employees are still expected to perform their job requirements in a safe manner.

Environmental Factors: Working conditions include exposure to plant temperature extremes, dampness, humidity, fumes, and high noise levels.   Work requires wearing proper protective equipment.  Incumbent may work with rotating machinery and in a crowded area.

Established in 1971, Pacific Coast Producers is a cooperative owned by over 165 family farmers that grow and deliver various produce, including tomatoes, peaches, pears, grapes, cherries, and more, to production facilities in California and Oregon for processing and packaging. We have two production facilities located in The Dalles, Oregon, specifically dedicated to processing cherries. The facilities are equipped with advanced sorting, pitting, and processing equipment, enabling us to efficiently process large volumes of cherries while maintaining strict quality standards. Our facilities are an important part of the Pacific Northwest's agricultural industry and play a key role in the production of high-quality cherry products for consumers around the world.
