About this role
• Provide day-to-day production support for Teradata-based applications and data
warehouse processes.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, data issues, failed batch jobs, and
performance problems.
• Develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL queries in Teradata.
• Monitor and support scheduled jobs using ESP scheduling tools.
• Troubleshoot and support ETL workflows developed with IBM DataStage.
• Use Linux command-line tools to review logs, execute scripts, validate files, and investigate failures.
• Perform root-cause analysis and document corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, operations, and business teams to resolve production issues.
• Support application releases, deployments, job restarts, and production validations.
• Review or troubleshoot mainframe processes, scripts, or job dependencies when applicable.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
• Participate in either individual or group onboarding, depending on project needs.
Requirements
• 3–5 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL development, application support, or
production support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Teradata.
• Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting or developing ETL processes using IBM DataStage.
• Experience with ESP scheduling or similar enterprise workload scheduling tools.
• Hands-on experience using the Linux/Unix command line.
• Previous experience providing production or application support.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work during U.S. daytime business hours.
• Availability to remain on the engagement through at least year-end, with the possibility of extension.
• Flexibility to onboard individually or as part of a larger group.
• Experience working with mainframe environments.
• Knowledge of JCL, COBOL, DB2, batch processing, or mainframe job monitoring.
• Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse or banking/financial-services applications.
• Familiarity with incident management, root-cause analysis, change management, and production release processes.
• Experience with Teradata utilities such as BTEQ, TPT, FastLoad, MultiLoad, or FastExport.
