Make a Difference in Every Patient’s Visit

Join OrthoVirginia as a Medical Assistant and become an important part of a collaborative orthopedic care team dedicated to helping patients get back to the activities they love.

In this role, you’ll work closely with physicians, clinical team members, and patients throughout their orthopedic care journey. From preparing patients for their visit and providing hands-on clinical support to coordinating follow-up care and surgeries, you’ll help create a smooth, positive experience for every patient.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure clinical areas are ready for patients and providers.
  • Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document relevant medical history and information.
  • Support physicians and clinical team members with patient care throughout the visit.
  • Educate patients on orthopedic care, including cast care, traction care, and the proper use of orthopedic appliances.
  • Enter physician-directed orders for services such as X-rays and physical therapy.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments, post-operative visits, diagnostic studies, and other patient care needs.
  • Assist with surgery scheduling, including coordinating pre-operative testing, therapy, and pre- and post-operative equipment.
  • Help manage patient flow to support an efficient and positive experience for patients and providers.
  • Respond to patient calls, appropriately triage questions and concerns, and help ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam, treatment, and bracing rooms.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for the handling and disposal of sharps and biohazardous materials.
  • Partner with the broader clinical team to support an exceptional patient experience.

Compensation Range for this position:

$17.98 - $26.97

Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
