About this role

We are seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team! This is a full-time, hourly position supporting the day-to-day administrative needs of our nursing facility.

The Unit Clerk plays an important role in keeping the unit organized and ensuring our residents and clinical team have the supplies, records, appointments, and transportation they need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order and maintain central supply inventory, including monitoring stock levels and ensuring necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Assist with medical records, including organizing, filing, maintaining, and ensuring resident documentation is complete and properly stored.
  • Schedule and coordinate resident medical appointments with outside providers.
  • Arrange and coordinate resident transportation to and from appointments.
  • Communicate appointment and transportation information with residents, families, nursing staff, and outside providers as needed.
  • Maintain appointment calendars and track upcoming resident appointments.
  • Assist with obtaining necessary paperwork and documentation for resident appointments.
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide general clerical support to the nursing team.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records while protecting resident confidentiality.
  • Communicate supply needs, scheduling concerns, and other important information to appropriate leadership.
  • Perform additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, healthcare setting, medical office, or administrative role preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Comfortable using computers, electronic medical records, email, and scheduling systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Must be dependable, professional, and able to work effectively with residents, families, staff, providers, and transportation companies.
