About this role
Scope:
Full time multi-specialty profee coder with 2+ years recent experience coding general and trauma surgeries to include office visits and procedures as well as hospital visits and OR procedures. Office E&M, Office Procedures, Hospital Procedures, Hospital Rounding E&M. Project uses Cerner, Revcycle, Optum Encoder Pro. Experience with all 3 is preferred but will train on the systems for the right candidate. Denials and Edits experience needed. Good computer skills to learn new systems. Schedule is 8 hours Mon-Fri with majority of shift between 6am and 4pm CST, start time can be flexible within reason
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for professional fee services.
- Code and review:
- Office-based E&M visits
- Office procedures
- Hospital E&M services
- Hospital rounding encounters
- General surgery procedures
- Trauma surgery procedures
- Operative and surgical services performed in the OR
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Review and resolve coding edits, claim rejections, and denials.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate coding concerns as appropriate.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while meeting client turnaround expectations.
- Collaborate effectively with providers, auditors, and operational teams.
- Adapt to new systems, workflows, and client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Professional Fee coding experience.

- Surgical/OR procedures
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Experience working coding edits, claim corrections, and denials.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new applications and workflows quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to coding accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Cerner
- RevCycle
- Optum Encoder Pro
- Experience in a multi-specialty physician practice environment.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Monday through Friday.
- 8-hour shifts.
- Majority of work hours should fall between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM CST.
- Flexible start time within reason based on operational needs.
Training
Experience with Cerner, RevCycle, and Optum Encoder Pro is preferred; however, training may be provided for the right candidate with strong surgical ProFee coding experience.

- Maintain 95% accuracy in all coding
